About us

From a hand scythe to RTK robots.

We have been mowing lawns for 32 years — with a scythe, a push mower, petrol and battery machines and, today, robots that find their way by satellite, laser and camera. RoboMowerMag is what we wish we had when the first wire-free mowers arrived.

The grass has not changed much in three decades. The machines have. A robot mower now combines satellite positioning, 3D sensors, AI vision, cellular modems and an app — and every brand describes the same ideas with different words.

We started RoboMowerMag to translate that marketing into plain facts a lawn owner can use: how big a lawn a model really handles, which slope it can climb, how it navigates under trees, and what it costs to own.

A good lawn is still about cutting little and often at the right height. A robot only makes sense if it does that better than you would.

01What you will find here

A structured mower database

Every robot mower in our catalog has the same set of fields — mowing area, maximum slope, cutting width and height, drive, navigation, battery, noise and price — so models from different brands can be compared side by side instead of through brochures.

Where a manufacturer does not publish a value, we leave the field empty rather than guess.

Navigation, decoded

Boundary wire, RTK, network RTK, LiDAR, VSLAM, pure vision: each works well in some gardens and fails in others. Our navigation guides explain what each system needs — sky view, light, a reference station, a 4G link — and which garden layouts suit it.

Accessories that change the result

Garages, blade discs, RTK mounts, batteries and off-road wheels can matter as much as the mower itself. We list them per model so owners know what fits before they order.

Lawn care, not just gadgets

Robots mow; they do not fix a lawn. Our lawn care pieces cover cutting height through the season, mulching, slopes, edges and the jobs a robot still leaves to you.

02How we work

Three decades of mowing teach you to distrust a spec sheet that was written for a perfect lawn. Our rules:

  • Manufacturer figures are labelled as manufacturer figures.
  • Hands-on impressions are only described as tested when we actually used the machine.
  • Prices state their source and market — US list price, UK RRP or a store price.
  • Corrections are welcome and made quickly.
  • Sponsored material is always marked, and paid placements never buy a verdict.

03Who writes RoboMowerMag

Articles are published by the RoboMowerMag Editorial team: people who have mowed small city yards, large country plots and steep slopes for more than 30 years, and who now set up, compare and troubleshoot robot mowers.

We are independent of any mower brand. Some links on the site may be affiliate links; that never decides which model we recommend.
